Marukome USA is the U.S. subsidiary of Marukome Co., Ltd., Japan’sleading producer of miso and koji. We operate a production facility in California, using carefully selected, domestically sourced non-GMO soybeans, and are actively producing organic miso.

Building on generations of Japanese fermentation expertise, we combine tradition with modern innovation to deliver high-quality products that support healthy and balanced lifestyles around the world.

HISTORY

1854 Started production in Japan

Since its establishment in 1854, Marukome has offered to consumers fermented food products including miso for over 170 years. Marukome has now become the largest miso company as a result of the constant pursuit of new ideas, production methods and innovations.

1978 Became the industry leader

Later, in 2016, it achieved annual sales that exceeded 40 billion yen.

2007 Completed construction of the Marukome USA Factory in Irvine

Today, we produce miso not only in Japan but also at our U.S. factory. We are also focusing our efforts on the production of organic miso.
