Nagano Prefecture Governor Abe visits Marukome USA

On November 1, Nagano Governor Abe and members of the nonprofit organization Ferment Valley NAGANO visited Marukome USA's factory and showroom. The Governor toured the vast 134,000-square-foot facility, including 72,000 square feet of factory floor space.

After the factory tour, the Governor and Ferment Valley NAGANO members attended a presentation at the showroom, including a tasting session showcasing the popularity of miso in America. Governor Abe enjoyed the best-selling miso in the miso paste category, which was created specifically for American consumers.

People in Nagano Prefecture follow a diet rich in vegetables and fermented foods, believed to enhance health. Nagano is well known for the longevity of its people.
